What We Do

The Muscliff-Whittaker Foundation exists to support the community of Muscliff and the surrounding area and promotes a number of local initiatives.

Muscliff Park

Muscliff Park is a natural hub of the Muscliff community.  The Foundation works with partners to support improvements that provide opportunities for everyone and bring people together to enjoy this large, well maintained and popular public space which, like a number of other Bournemouth parks, enjoys Green Flag status.

Within the Park there is a thriving Community Centre and the Shack Cafe, together with a wide range of sports and recreational activities which all play host to local clubs and communities. Pétanque  Terrain

The pétanque  terrain was our first major project, delivering a brand new sports facility to complement those already in the park.

Working with local sponsors, the congregation of the Brookfield Gospel Hall, and Bournemouth Borough Council, we coordinated with our partners to facilitate the building of this new, floodlit 20m x 14m terrain.  We were also grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for a grant covering some essential set up costs.

The first pétanque  club actually based in Bournemouth, Muscliff Park Petanque Club, plays here and offers several sessions every week. In its inaugural season its teams achieved promotion in each of the two leagues they entered.  This new club, now over seventy strong, has given many local people the opportunity to try a new sport and to make friends in their community.
